Construction work is progressing on the Centre for Energy and the Environment for UHI North Highland College in Thurso. This BREEAM 'Excellent' design further develops our timber technologies expertise previously employed on projects at Smithton and Golspie and is one of the largest projects of its type in the UK to use cross laminated timber as a main element of construction.

The project is a design and build commission for Robertson Construction Highland, with WA Fairhurst and Pick Everard as design team partners.

Completion on site is programmed for October 2010. hri-architects have proposed a further iteration of the construction system for the planned Engineering Skills Centre at the college.
